The following weekend, the ‘sync’ performance by Lydia Ourahmane in collaboration with Daniel Blumberg will take place at the KW Institute for Contemporary Art.
In the main hall of KW, which will remain open for 24 consecutive hours for the first time in the institution’s history, ‘sync’ will premiere as a live sonic performance for which 24 participants at a time are invited to have their heartbeats amplified into the space.
Centered in the vast hall, a simple combination of 24 seats form a physical echo chamber. The formation lends architecture to a matrix, in which each participant is invited to explore the visceral conditions of assimilation through physical proximity.
As sync is an in-progress composition, we kindly ask each participant to observe and respect the instructions for taking part. Prior to entry, please note that this is a silent event as a live recording is in process.
The performance is free to attend and will begin at 11am on October 1st.
Curator: Sofie Krogh Christensen
Curatorial assistant: Nikolas Brummer
Sound technicians: James Dunn, Paolo Combes, Axel Astvaldur.
