Award-winning, Nashville-based, self-described “Hillbilly singer/songwriter” and three-time Top-30-charting recording artist (European market) Scott Southworth was first introduced to Schertler through his buddy David Schmidt, Schertler’s U.S. Sales Director, in 2017.
Southworth, a three-time Academy of Western Artists’ (AWA) nominee for Male Vocalist of the Year and Pure Country Album of the Year, was invited to try out the AG6 and S-mic over a year ago, and he’s been testing the pair out in all kinds of different environments ever since.
“Whether it’s a full band, large festival stage for thousands or a solo acoustic house concert or in a noisy little pub, this system has never let me down,”
he says.
“It’s so easy to dial in the correct pickup/mic combo for the room…just a few tweaks up and down the sound-hole dial. I love the low-maintenance, high-performance aspect of it and the sound quality this set affords me on the road.”
Southworth Checks Out the David XWe recently asked Southworth to try out our newly released, small-but-mighty David X.
“I was a little hesitant because I’m not one of those guys that can point out all the little buttons and tell you what each one does,”
Southworth says.
“I like things I can … plug in and perform to an audience. That’s really all I care about. Does it sound good? Are the people hearing it in the front and the back?”
So, what did he think?
”I had an absolutely amazing time with [the David X],”
he says.
“Look how cute this thing is, it’s so pretty and … super light. I can pick it up with one hand and take it on the road … it’s amazing to travel with.”
At first, Southworth admits he had his reservations about the David X’s compact size.
“I was worried … that something this small would actually sound the way I wanted it to sound,”
he says.
“But the quality has been amazing in both indoor and outdoor setting … the David X does exactly what I need it to, allowing me to focus on the song and my audience.”
